| Adif has obtained the contract for this work, which will favor rail traffic in the dock, for an amount of more than one million euros | The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has valued very positively that ADIF has put out to tender the drafting of the construction project and the works for the renovation of the Escombreras terminal to improve the operation of the railway traffic of the Escombreras dock .“With these works, the rail connection of the Port of Cartagena with the center and north of the peninsula for the transport of goods will be facilitated, which, without a doubt, is very positive, not only for the improvement of the economic results of the Port , but also for the entire local economy ”, highlighted the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.The project has an estimated contract value of 1,079,078.92 euros and a completion period of 8 months.
"The ultimate goal is to promote maritime-land intermodality in freight traffic, which will favor the economic growth of the Port of Cartagena and, therefore, of the entire municipality," Castejón pointed out.These works will be complemented with the modernization of the railway network of the Cartagena-Murcia-Chinchilla line and with other plans foreseen by the Port Authority in the area."From the City Council of Cartagena we celebrate actions like this one, where the commitment of the Government of Spain and, specifically, the Ministry of Development with the municipality of Cartagena, its infrastructures and, above all, its Port is clearly seen", he concluded the mayor.
