| The heads of both institutions encourage the incorporation of interns, through the chair of the employers' association at the Polytechnic | UPCT students will help businesses to use the Cartagena Marketplace created to boost electronic commerce The president of the Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena (COEC), Ana Correa, met this morning in the Rectorate with the rector of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), Beatriz Miguel.

A first working meeting between the two focused on the potential of University-Company collaboration to consolidate the digitization of the productive fabric. "The University is a source of knowledge and the UPCT stands out for its technological innovation, which companies must take advantage of", said Ana Correa, pointing out that "digitization, which implies totally changing the production process, is today more necessary than never".

The result of this meeting highlights the collaboration agreement between COEC and UPCT through the internships of university students and volunteering, to help local businesses manage the Cartagena Marketplace in the implementation of which COEC has actively collaborated. "The incorporation of our students to companies can help accelerate digitization," said the rector, recalling that UPCT and COEC share two chairs, the Economic Situation Studies Service, which periodically studies the evolution of the indicators socioeconomic conditions of the region, and the Club COEC-UPCT Chair, through which the practices that Polytechnic students can carry out in companies that are part of the employer's association are provided with content in R & D & I. The promotion of entrepreneurship was another of the topics discussed at the meeting, in which both Beatriz Miguel and Ana Correa praised the "magnificent training for business launch" provided by the Cloud Incubator HUB of the UPCT, which has again been designated by Funcas as the best start-up accelerator in Spain.
