The pantheons of the Los Remedios cemetery will be the protagonists in the exhibition 'The Silent City', which will host the ground floor of the old Cartagena Seaman Instruction Barracks, next October.
For this purpose a photographic report of several modernist pantheons preserved in said cemetery has been hired.To take these photographs, it will be necessary to use a Large Format architectural camera with decentrable optics with which the deformations of a conventional photographic lens are corrected, according to the needs of specialized architecture photography.“Without a doubt, the Remedios Cemetery has pantheons that are an architectural treasure.
Therefore, the realization of this report and the exhibition will allow them to be known ”, indicated the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.The exhibition, 'The Silent City', has the support and collaboration of the General Directorate of Strategic Projects of Historical-Artistic Heritage, dependent on the Government Area of ??the Mayor's Office and Urban Planning, Housing and Strategic Projects, Archaeological Heritage and the Environment.At the same time, the presentation of a monographic book on the Pantheons of the Cemetery of Los Remedios de Cartagena, carried out by the curator of said exhibition, María José Muñoz Mora, doctor in architecture and specialized in Funerary Architecture, specifically this cemetery.
