| The purpose of the appointment is to give new impetus to the Consortium and respond to the new needs arising from the current tourism situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic | Víctor Manuel González Urrea has been appointed new manager of the La Manga Consortium in the General Council that was held this morning of September 22 electronically.The appointment of Víctor Manuel González, a well-trained professional in the sector, aims to give new impetus to the Consortium and respond to the new needs arising from the current tourism situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.The new manager has a diploma in Business and Tourism Activities from the UIB and also has other qualifications such as Postgraduate Expert in Marketing Management, Postgraduate Expert in Advanced Management Skills, Master in Business Management and Marketing and Master in Business Administration.PROJECTS TO BE CARRIED OUTDuring the General Council of the Consortium, different points have been agreed in order to promote the La Manga del Mar Menor area.
Among the projects that are intended to be carried out, it is worth highlighting the improvement of public transport and the promotion of retail trade.It is also intended to monitor the Strategic Plan for La Manga (2020-2023), aimed at seasonal adjustment, improving the quality of services and profitability, as well as creating a new image as a safe and sustainable destination."The new manager is a professional of recognized prestige in the tourism sector who, without a doubt, will contribute to promoting La Manga and overcoming the new challenges and weaknesses that the coronavirus pandemic has revealed," said the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
