| The local government already introduced bonuses in the ICIO last year, with the aim of encouraging the rehabilitation of the most degraded areas of the municipality | The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has held a meeting with the heads of the Association of Real Estate Developers of the Region, among whom was its new president, José Ramón Blázquez, with the intention of knowing first-hand the situation of the sector and its needs.Castejón and the representatives of the promoters agreed to study fiscal measures that help the sector to cope with the crisis caused by COVID19, and the mayor took the opportunity to remind them that the City Council already introduced tax credits in the ICIO of up to 30% last year, to encourage rehabilitation and construction in the most degraded areas of the municipality, both in the city center and in certain neighborhoods of Cartagena.The first mayor has pledged to "continue deepening this line to facilitate the improvement of these areas, as well as the promotion of protected and / or rental housing, so that we achieve the ambitious objective of facilitating access to housing and rehabilitate degraded areas, while promoting greater economic activity in the sector ”.On the other hand, the mayor informed the association that, once the progress of the General Plan has been completed, the municipal cartography is already in the bidding process, "which guarantees that during the next year 2021 the work to prepare the document will be contracted planning, so that it can be submitted for initial approval by the City Council ”.Municipal promoter officeThe promoters' association proposed to the City Council the creation of a Promoter's Office to streamline and simplify the administrative processing of projects, so that investments can materialize quickly.The mayor promised to study this proposal and hold periodic meetings with them to follow up on pending projects.
