The Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) launches its Tutorial Action Plan this 2020-21 academic year, one of the measures contemplated in the electoral program of the rector Beatriz Miguel, and which means that each of the first-year students will have assigned a veteran student as a tutor-mentor.
The tutors-mentors will be assigned to a maximum of twenty students and the tutoring will be carried out online due to the health situation.The initiative will promote the integration of the student in the UPCT while receiving both academic and personal guidance, as well as professional.
This tutorial action program is intended to promote the integration of students in the University, identify the difficulties that arise during their studies and analyze possible solutions, advise students in the choice of their curricular itinerary as well as guide them to facilitate their foray into the world of work.The School of Telecommunications and the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Polytechnic of Cartagena have already had pilot programs for tutoring their students for two years.The Student Attention Service will train the tutors-mentors and coordinate their actions.
The students who participate in these tutoring actions will obtain a study fee of 200 euros and the recognition of 1.5 ECTS credits, as well as an accrediting diploma that will count as merit in the scholarship announcements.The selection of candidates will take place from September 25 to 28.
The tutorial action plan will begin on October 1.
