| The owners have cleaned 9 plots, another 8 have initiated sanctioning procedures and the rest are pending the assessment of the cost of maintenance work | The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for the Health area, Manuel Padín, began this Monday, September 21, the weekly round of contacts with neighborhood leaders and county councils to expose in detail the situation of private lots throughout the municipality.
The first meeting was held in the San Antón neighborhood, where the mayor met with the president of the neighborhood association, Asensio Albaladejo, and other members of its board of directors, as well as municipal technicians. Before visiting some lots, the councilor and the neighborhood leader have met in the casino in the Cartagena neighborhood, where the mayor has stated that there are currently a total of 39 open files on cleaning lots in San Antón.
Of the total, the owners have already cleaned 9 plots, while another 8 have sanctioning proceedings open that, if not completed, will lead to subsidiary executions by the City Council.
The remaining 22 are awaiting the assessment that the Health service carries out on the cost of maintenance work on the plots, to notify the owners in the notification that is sent to claim the cleaning of the plots. The neighborhood leader has positively valued the new procedure of the Department and thanked the councilor for the visit.
Likewise, in coordination with the Health area, the residents will collaborate in the identification of the plots and their status, with the aim of speeding up as much as possible the procedures that allow the optimal maintenance of the plots. After the presentation of the situation of the neighborhood's private plots, some areas with open files were visited, such as the one in front of the neighborhood's own casino, where the summer cinema will be organized.
In this plot, on which cleaning work has already been carried out, the neighborhood collective has installed signs calling not to deposit rubble or garbage on the site.
And it is that, as Manuel Padín has insisted, “the Department has put the batteries to make the maintenance of the plots a reality, but this is everyone's job and we need citizen collaboration to prevent these plots from becoming a focus Of pests".The Council's forecast is that next week, on Friday, the Santa Lucía neighborhood will be visited.
The next area will be Los Urrutias, predictably, on October 5.
