| The UP of Cartagena thanks all the students who have demonstrated their responsibility by formalizing their enrollment through the Internet, given the situation caused by COVID19 | The Popular University of Cartagena has completed the capacity of each and every one of the courses and workshops offered for the current 2020/2021 academic year.
In fact, last Monday, September 14, the deadline for most of them began, whose application is primarily online, enabling from said service a point of attention to the public to help formalize the registration of people who do not have the possibility of access to Internet.However, most of the participants in the programmed activities have chosen to formalize the enrollment over the Internet, thus avoiding face-to-face attendance at municipal offices, thus acting in a responsible manner in the face of containing the virus.The Councilor for the Culture area, David Martínez Noguera, stressed that “many of our courses were completed from early in the morning, since the need to continue their activities normally is a necessity for all the people who want to recover their daily life safely and, in this way, overcome the fears that COVID19 subjects us to ”.The UP's training offer for the 2020/2021 academic year is 1,145 places spread over 16 routes and 76 courses and workshops, of which 27 already have waiting lists, due to the large influx of applications received from the early hours of the tomorrow, mainly through the Internet.
According to the data provided by the director of the UP, José Macián, the most requested courses include Photography, Languages, Plastic Arts, Literature, and Training with the University access courses for those over 25 years of age.From the Popular University they also remember that this course, as in previous years, has the so-called 'Virtual Campus', through which the programmed face-to-face courses and workshops can continue to be developed in the event that security measures tighten, to what the options of online courses and videoconferences are considered.“We want to thank all the citizens who have requested a course or workshop at the UP of Cartagena, thus demonstrating their confidence in our training, and, at the same time, I want to convey our apologies to the people who have not been able to obtain a place.
, since we have had to reduce our courses to be able to comply with the security measures contemplated in the current regulations.
