| The Department speeds up the cleaning of private plots with a new methodology in notifications | The deputy mayor and councilor for the Health area, Manuel Padín, will begin on Monday, September 21, a round of contacts with neighborhood presidents of neighborhoods and councils to report on the status of the files opened for cleaning sites.
These are meetings that will be held every week and that are intended to cover the entire municipality, informing the leaders of the real situation of their respective populations with data on the process of each case. The mayor has also reported that these meetings will report on the new methodology launched by the Department to expedite these cleanings.
And, as the councilor has advanced, now the first notification that reaches the owners includes an assessment of the cost of cleaning the site if the City Council must intervene in a subsidiary way, something that with the previous method was not included until the end of the procedure.
In this way, the owner of the plot knows from the first moment the final amount of the execution in case of not cleaning voluntarily.“We do not seek to sanction the owners, but rather that the lots are clean.
For this reason we give them all the information at the beginning of the file so that they themselves value carrying out the work and that the procedure is not prolonged, which may end in a sanction with a higher final amount ”, explained the Health Minister.
For this reason, he has also demanded the help of neighborhood groups not to leave any plot to attend.
"In the Department we are aware of all the complaints that make us reach the City Council directly or through the Neighborhood Councils and OMITAS, but these meetings will serve to know in situ some cases that may not have entered the official circuit", added the mayor. The councilor has reported regarding the municipal lots that the City Council brigades are "every day" working on cleaning them, with special attention to those areas near food establishments.
Likewise, the deputy mayor has requested "citizen collaboration so that garbage is deposited in the containers." “You cannot create illegal landfills on the sites because we load the environment and that brings with it rodent and insect pests.
It is everyone's responsibility ”, concluded the Health Minister.
