It is a web platform designed so that any business or professional in the municipality can sell their products or services. Cartagena Market is what is known as a 'marketplace', that is, the same web page where different sellers sell their products online, as explained in the presentation of the project, this Tuesday, September 15, the mayor of Cartagena , Ana Belén Castejón.The goal is for Cartagena Market to start operating in October through the URL: https://cartagenamarket.es."Now there is a magnificent opportunity to join the bandwagon of online commerce," Castejón pointed out while affirming that this form of commerce "is becoming a primary tool to face the current economic crisis situation."For her part, the president of Coec, Ana Correa, thanked the Cartagena City Council for its "good availability and harmony" since the health and economic crisis began.HOW DOES CARTAGENA MARKET WORK?The new website will have available two ways to purchase the products.
"Once the order is made, the customer has the possibility of picking it up at the establishment or making use of the home delivery service," explained the mayor.
In this sense, the mayor has stressed that "it is about being able to acquire products electronically and to continue betting on small businesses".Traders and freelancers who want to join this platform will have to register on the website and receive a confirmation from the Market administrator.
The essential requirement is that they be businesses with domicile in the municipality of Cartagena.The mayor stressed that the objective of the project is to improve the business fabric of Cartagena through online sales, "we make this tool available to move the sector forward in the event of possible outbreaks or specific isolations", said the first mayor.Traders or freelancers who make use of Cartagena Market "will have their own autonomy, they will be able to make sales directly from the website and they do not have to have an online store in advance," explained the mayor. Each seller will have a public profile that they can customize and will have the freedom to decide which products and when they are uploaded to the web based on their business objectives.TRAINING COURSESThe Cartagena City Council will conduct training courses on September 22, 23 and 24 on the operation of this online tool, to train those merchants and employees who are part of the project.The event was attended by the deputy mayor and councilor of the Tourism, Commerce, Health and Consumer Affairs Government Area, Manuel Padín, the president of Coec, Ana Correa, the councilor of the Employment and Business Area and president of the ADLE, Irene Ruiz , the councilor of the Tourism Area, Cristina Pérez, the manager of the ADLE, Fulgencio Cerón and representatives of the municipality's business associations, among which were, Antonio Plaza and Diego de Aro of the Association of La Manga and Cabo de Palos ; Esperanza Bermejo and Norberto Martín from the La Milla association; María Belén Guirao from the El Algar association and Carlos Pérez from the Los Belones association.
