| This week's work has been carried out in the municipalities of La Palma and La Aljorra and will continue in the coming weeks in Santa Ana, Molinos Marfagones, La Puebla and The Aparecida | The Department of Public Roads of the City of Cartagena, led by the mayor Juan Pedro Torralba, continues to work on improving the horizontal signs of the municipality.
This first week of September, the work has focused on La Palma and La Aljorra and will continue to be carried out also in Santa Ana, Molinos Marfagones, La Puebla and La Aparecida."The objective is to improve horizontal signage since road safety is a priority for the City of Cartagena", explained Juan Pedro Torralba.These actions have already been carried out in other locations such as Canteras, La Azohía, Isla Plana, Pozo Estrecho, El Albujón, Miranda, Polígono de Santa Ana, El Bohío, Los Dolores, Cartagena Centro Este, Alums, Vista Alegre, Los Nietos , Los Belones, Islas Menores, Mar de Cristal, Cabo de Palos and La Manga del Mar Menor, among others.PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISTIC SPECTRUM DISORDERThe City Council also continues to adapt the pedestrian crossings that are close to educational centers for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).These adaptation tasks have been carried out this week in Urbanización Mediterráneo, San Antón and La Vaguada.
Other areas that already have these adapted pedestrian crossings are Canteras, San José Obrero and Nueva Cartagena, among others.This adaptation consists of the incorporation of four pictograms (stop, look, car stopped and cross) in the pedestrian crossings at the intersections near the educational centers.
