| The municipal government requests that the Regional Administration directly carry out the assessment and study of the cases, while the municipalities are in charge of their monitoring and control | The Cartagena City Council has asked the regional government to study directly the administrative management of the aid that the Family Council has offered to the municipalities to attend to schoolchildren during school days without class.
In the videoconference that the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, has held this morning with those responsible for the municipalities of the Region, the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has requested that the scale and selection of the families requesting this aid can be resolved directly from the regional administration to avoid greater burdens on local administrations at a time when the municipalities and their social services are overloaded by the management of other aid to the population. The Family Minister, Isabel Franco, has promised to analyze with the Ministry of Education formulas to collaborate in the administrative management of these resources.Arroyo has insisted that the City Council of Cartagena offers all possible collaboration to respond to the needs that are going to arise with the new way of organizing education and has already made available to Education and Family the municipal facilities that could house schoolchildren without class.Likewise, the deputy mayor recalled the joint work that municipal officials of Social Services and the Local Police are carrying out to guarantee compliance with quarantines and offer aid to prevent economic problems from forcing anyone to break quarantine for fear of losing their job or their source of income.
This work, which is being carried out in Barrio de Peral, will be extended to other areas of the municipality. The City Council has promised to follow the instructions of the regional president so that social events are reduced to a minimum and compliance with restrictions on social gatherings is monitored, since most of the contagion outbreaks come from these contacts.
