| City Council and social groups agree to extend the project for the construction of a rainwater collector to more streets in the town | The mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, and the deputy mayor, Noelia Arroyo, met this morning with neighborhood representatives from Llano del Beal, among which were the president of the Neighborhood Council, Carmen Soto; the vice president of the Neighborhood Association, Antonio Vidal; and the president of the AMPA and the Heavy Metal Platform, Juan Ortuño, to whom they have explained the projects for the restoration of the San Agustín reservoir and the construction of a storm drain. The project for the San Agustín pond, which has had the approval of the neighbors, contemplates covering the ground with clean lands, maintaining the recreation area with the existing vegetation; correcting runoffs preventing water from accumulating in the vicinity of the school; and the construction of a wall that separates the pond from the existing road to retain possible dragging of the slope, either by water or by gravity. This project includes a surface finish that will give rise to a wooded area that will become a recreation area for the town. For the implementation of this project, the approval of Addif and the Segura Hydrographic Confederation is necessary. The budget is 185,000 euros that will be executed in two annuities. The mayor has indicated that "we have the approval and a project agreed by all the residents of El Llano to carry out this work so demanded by them.
We have also agreed with these neighbors to demand that the company continue with its mission." For his part, the president of the Platform for People Affected by Heavy Metals, Juan Ortuño, thanked the City Council for the various works that are being carried out to end pollution in recent years. The neighborhood president, Antonio Vidal, has also shown his agreement with this project.CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW COLLECTOR AND NETWORK OF RAINFALL For her part, the deputy mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has indicated that during this meeting the project for the construction of a new rainwater network in the town has also been explained to the neighbors."The objective is very simple: to prevent rainwater from having to cross the entire town, flooding the school and homes," he indicated. Both the residents and the government team are clear that the water that the new rainwater network would collect does not imply any discharge to the promenade, since they naturally flow into it after crossing the town. The vice president of the Neighborhood Association has requested that this project be expanded since he considers it necessary to reach more streets in the town, since it is essential for it. Antonio Vidal has indicated that "we have waited so long, that waiting a little longer is worth it so that the project is expanded and the problem that exists in all the streets of the town is fully resolved".
