| The county councils of Campo Nubla, Perín or La Magdalena have important population centers without paper, glass or container containers | At full population in summer and without the possibility of recycling as in the third world.

The western part of the municipality of Cartagena draws the attention of users of second homes due to the lack of blue containers for paper, yellow for containers and the green igloo for glass. Important municipalities such as Campo Nubla, Perín or La Magdalena have a large number of green containers at the entrance or exit of the town with no option for selective collection.

The geographical distribution of this part of Cartagena, very similar to that of the neighboring municipality of Fuente Álamo, has many scattered hamlets whose inhabitants travel several kilometers by car to deposit their waste in the main towns.

This is the case of La Manchica, on the road of the same name that connects La Aljorra and Las Palas, with up to six containers together located on the outskirts of the urban layout.

All green in color, it is impossible to separate organic waste, packaging, glass or paper.

Several neighbors show their complaint to the Cantonal Party of Cartagena that, the most logical,it would be at least a distribution of three green and three yellow containers instead of six generalists. This lack acquires greater dimensions in summer since these councils triple their inhabitants with houses for use only in this season.

The new residents show their surprise at the impossibility of separating garbage as they do at their usual home.

Much of it comes from Catalonia, where families from the area emigrated in the eighties in search of work, and the most recent come from countries such as Great Britain, France, Germany or Belgium that find a place with a lot of sun, high temperatures and very close beaches.

These European citizens, with a strong ecological awareness, extol the climatic benefits of Cartagena but compare its municipal garbage service with that of underdeveloped countries.
