The Regional Championship of Combined Athletics Events, organized by the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Cartagena Athletics Club with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of the City of Cartagena, was held this past weekend 21 and 22 August in the Municipal Athletics Track.The excellent results of the UCAM Atletismo Cartagena athletes continue to work hard this summer with hard training to get the necessary form to face the National competitions that will take place in September and October.The UCAM Atletismo Cartagena Club is working on a difficult and different season, but one that is serving as an escape valve for all these young athletes who, after months of confinement, need sports goals and projects, and athletics with security measures and sanitary must and has to be the ideal tool to maintain the illusion of these young athletes.FEMALE CATEGORYIn girls, the absolute champion was Patricia Quesada in the Heptathlon with 2992 points, great merit for the UCAM Atletismo Cartagena athlete who reconciles her work as a nurse in the Murcian Health Service with training in the departmental team.
In the sub23 category heptathlon, a great victory for Lumbreña Ana Faucon of UCAM Cartagena with 4153 points, in the same test but in the sub18 category, silver and bronze for the young women from the quarry of the three-thousand-year-old team Paula Urrea (3333 points) and Lucia Oses (2207 points).MALE CATEGORYIn boys, victory in the absolute decathlon for Antonio Barrancos del Unicaja, with 5996 points, an athlete who since the return from confinement has decided to train with the UCAM Cartagena combined group; He was second in the championship, proving himself in some tests Sergio Jornet from UCAM, who proved to be in good shape to prepare for the absolute National.
