MC: PP and Ciudadanos give away license to gambling halls also in pandemic (18/08/2020)

| Jesús Giménez anticipates that MC has requested the Ministry of Health that "the Law be applied to them and the halls stop being 'friends of the Government' and be recognized as a 'social threat', which is what they are for future generations "| This morning, the deputy spokesperson for the MC Municipal Group, Jesús Giménez, has asked the CARM Health Department to include gambling halls in the order that this Department issued on August 16.

These establishments do not appear in the aforementioned order, despite being an 'indoor' activity and, therefore, at least as risky as those contemplated in the Decree. It should be remembered that the order of the Ministry of Health, published this past Sunday, suspends "the activity of leisure establishments dedicated to discos, dance halls, karaoke, pubs, cocktail bars with and without live musical performances".

to set the closing time for the activity of the hotel, restaurant and terrace establishments, as well as the beach bars and restaurants for 01:00, having to be carried out "with the assistants seated at tables or grouping of tables, 10 being the maximum number of people who can participate in each one of them ". In this context, Jesús Giménez pointed out today that "for the PP and Ciudadanos, gambling halls also have a privateering license in a pandemic." "To the already well-known commitment of the regional government for this sector, which it pampers with eight million euros a year in tax credits and which has made the Region the cradle of this scourge, we add what is happening in this stage of coronavirus that is of a manifest recklessness ", has explained the mayor. Giménez has revealed a very revealing fact.

"The Ministry of Health has forgotten to include gambling halls in the extraordinary public health measures that came into force on Sunday, a recurring forgetfulness, since they were left in the same limbo in the regional resolution of June", recalling that " This 'blind eye' towards gambling halls was already denounced in its day by MC, by FAVCAC and by HOSTECAR, both for the damage to society, and for the unfair competition that they carry out in municipalities like ours, where the City Council allows free use terraces when they are reserved for adults ". Jesús Giménez has concluded wishing "the rapid reaction and rectification of the situation of prevention of Covid-19, as well as that the Law is applied to them and the salons stop being 'friends of the Government' and are recognized as 'social threat' , which is what they are for generations to come.
