Accem launches in Cartagena a project "Attention to women victims of trafficking and other forms of violence against women" funded by the DG for Women and Gender Diversity.

CARM through funds from the State Pact against gender violence.The entity has extensive experience of more than 25 years of working with people in situations of social vulnerability, and specializing in the care of immigrants and applicants for international protection.
It is part of the Spanish Network against Trafficking, and this project will work to provide direct care for women who are especially vulnerable because they are in prostitution or are potential victims of trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation and other forms of violence.Cartagena is a municipality with a high percentage of women of different nationalities who in many cases are isolated, suffer situations of violence and / or are prostitutes, many of them immigrant women with a great ignorance of the help they can have to get out of the situations that live with abuse and exploitation.So far there are no data on the impact of prostitution in the Cartagena area, although the cases of women who approach the organization's services to request help and advice are significant.
This shows the need for specialized personnel, as well as for a study that quantitatively and qualitatively analyzes the reality experienced by these women who are in a situation of extreme vulnerability.The main objective is to carry out comprehensive work both with the women themselves and with their families through a multidisciplinary team that will be in charge, from their respective areas of action, of providing them with those services they demand, reducing their isolation and consequent risk of exclusion.
The team will carry out identification, prevention, information and guidance functions, bringing them closer to those resources that can improve their living conditions, worsened if possible due to the pandemic.The project has the following services:1.
