The works, charged to Hidrogea's surplus (5,500,000 euros), have an execution period of approximately two months and were approved by the Governing Board on July 23.“We are talking about works that are totally necessary for both Narrow Well and Alums, and which can help prevent leaks or flooding problems.
We continue working to improve the quality of life for the residents of Cartagena, ”explained the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.In Pozo Estrecho, the works will be worth 234,219 euros and will focus on improving the water and sanitation network on Mayor, Ponce de León, Gran Capitán, Juan Díaz de Solís, Pedrerías Ávila and Juan Grijalba streets.In Alumbres, the supply and sanitation networks between Canalejas and Paseo del Malecón streets will be renewed, as well as those of San Antonio and Prefumo streets.These works have a value of 84,377 euros and will consist of a replacement of the storm sewer and supply networks, increasing the number of scuppers and the replacement of fiber cement and cement connections by PVC.The first mayor added that "these two works are added to those already announced in Saura street, San Diego Subida, Casas del Pino in El Plan, San Juan Bosco in Los Dolores, Calle Mayor in Canteras, in addition to the hydraulic work in The Urrutias ”.Castejón has stressed that "all these works are very important not only because they will contribute to improving the network but also because they generate employment, something very important at the moment."
