3.July.2020.- Health and cyber security for elections at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.

The UPCT is holding elections this Monday to elect the person who will assume the highest office in the institution, renew the Senate and determine who will direct the School of Telecommunications.

Voting will be telematic, to prevent contagion of Covid-19, and will be carried out after authentication of the members of the university community and with a system that will allow voters to verify the registration of their vote.Students, teaching and research staff (PDI) and administration and services staff (PAS) may exercise, from 10 am on Monday, July 6 and until 10:00 on Friday, July 10, their right to vote to decide who will succeed the current rector Alejandro Díaz.

The only candidacy is that of Professor Beatriz Miguel Hernández.

The vote count, weighted according to the electoral weight of each group in the university community, will determine whether the candidate receives more support than rejection, a requirement for her proclamation as rector.

Otherwise, the electoral process must be repeated.The voting will be carried out from the platform https://elecciones.upct.es, which the voters will access authenticating their identity on the Virtual Campus.

The professors of group B of the School of Telecommunication may also elect up to two candidates as their representatives in the Senate.

The cloisters of the other groups have already been proclaimed, as a number equal to or less than the number of positions to be filled has been presented.From the same website, the teachers of the School of Telecommunications will also choose the new director of the ETSIT.

The candidates are Professors Alejandro Melcón Álvarez and Juan Monzó Cabrera.

These elections will be held in the first round between July 6 and 7 and, if necessary, July 8 in the second round and July 9 in the third and last round.
