| The objective of this initiative is to make all pet owners aware of compliance with current regulations | The Local Police of Cartagena denounces 19 people within the campaign on surveillance of companion animals carried out from June 12 to 25.
In total, 10 complaints have been made for not wearing a leash, 3 for not wearing a chip, 4 for not picking up excrement and 2 for not wearing a muzzle.The agents assigned to the Quality of Life unit have controlled the infractions committed on the Municipal Ordinance on the protection and possession of pets.
Through this campaign, which has also had the action of non-uniformed units, it seeks to raise awareness among all pet owners about compliance with current regulations, monitoring compliance with the collection of animal droppings on the road public, as well as the use of the leash or muzzle in cases of potentially dangerous animals.Infractions related to non-compliance with the Ordinance of Keeping and Caring for Domestic Animals, in the case of minor ones, will be sanctioned with a fine of 30 to 300 euros; the serious ones with a fine of 300.01 to 1,750 euros; and the very serious ones with a fine of 1,750.01 to 3,000 euros.
