| Students, teachers and PAS will vote electronically from July 6 to 10 | The electoral campaign starts at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
They are the first elections in telematic format carried out by the educational institution.
The campaign begins next Monday and ends on July 4.Voting takes place online between July 6 and 10, five days in which students, Research Teaching Staff (PDI) and Administration and Services Staff (PAS) can cast their telematic vote.This electoral format is carried out as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.
The elections were scheduled for March 30, but the electoral process was suspended due to the state of alarm.
The current phase of confinement allows some face-to-face act to be carried out during the electoral campaign.
These elections are attended by a single candidate, led by Professor of the Chemical Engineering area Beatriz Miguel, professor at the UPCT since 2000.
Beatriz Miguel will be the first President of the UPCT.The Polytechnic, created in 1998, has had four rectors: Juan Ramón Medina Preciso from its creation until 2003; Félix Faura Mateu, from that year until 2012; José Antonio Franco Leemhuis until 2016 and since then, Alejandro Díaz Morcillo.
It is the second electoral call in the history of the UPCT in which only one candidate is presented.
For the positions of representation of the university community in the Cloister, all the candidates have already been proclaimed as elected, except for the professors of group B of the School of Telecommunication, in which case votes must be held.
