| The municipality's coasts have 27 rescue posts that will be watched by a total of 68 lifeguards | The beaches of the municipality of Cartagena this year have 27 rescue posts and a total of 68 lifeguards who ensure the safety of bathers.
As for the schedules, during this second fortnight of June the stalls will be open from 11 a.m.
to 7 p.m., except on the Galúa beach, Mar de Cristal, Cala Cortina and San Ginés that will run until 8 p.m.In addition to the lifeguards, some rescue posts will also have nurses, such as the Barco Perdido, La Azohía, La Chapineta and Islas Menores; with three-seater jet skis with rescue stretchers in the Galúa and the Lost Ship; or semi-rigid boats with outboard motors on the Lost Ship and Mar de Cristal. The mayor of Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba, stressed that "from the City of Cartagena we are very clear that our priority is the safety of our neighbors and vacationers, so we are implementing all the measures within our reach to guarantee it."In this sense, the entry into force of the special beach rescue device includes this year an application on the municipal website through which users will be able to know in real time the capacity of each of the municipality's open beaches. "The lifeguards themselves are responsible for transferring the occupation data to those responsible for the application, so that they will be updated at all times," said Torralba. The application, created from the delegations of New Technologies and Strategic Projects, has three capacity levels, low, medium and high, and also offers information on the state of the sea, dimensions of the beach, type of sand, services it has and even the proximity or not of parking areas.
