| The traditional event organized by the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations, was to be held on the esplanade of the lighthouse at the end of July | The XXXI edition of the Habaneras Concert in Cabo de Palos, organized by the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations of the Cartagena City Council, will not be held this year.Given the current circumstances caused by the health crisis, the organizers have been forced to suspend this event, which since 1990 was offered every summer, at the end of July, at the foot of the Cabo de Palos Lighthouse, being an obligatory appointment for locals and vacationers.The Councilor for Celebrations, Juan Pedro Torralba, has had words of support for the Choir.
“It is a shame that, after 30 years of the Habaneras Concert, this summer you will not hear in the Cabo de Palos lighthouse musical pieces so deeply rooted in our culture as 'Flor Marina' or 'Cabo de Palos'.
From the City Council we want to transmit to the Cartagonova Polyphonic Choir all our support and affection because, although they have done it out of responsibility, I am sure that it was not an easy decision ”.Waiting for the current circumstances to be resolved, the Habaneras concert is scheduled for the month of July 2021.
