| The material has been destined for students from the two Colleges of Early Childhood and Primary Education in La Aljorra, Aljorra and Miguel de Cervantes | The donation includes a batch of 7,212 materials worth more than € 10,000 for more than 400 children who study in these centers and is a help for their families and that they can finish the course in the best conditionsThe materials will be distributed and delivered to each family at homeThe SABIC Spain Foundation has donated school supplies for more than 400 children from the two Colleges of Early Childhood and Primary Education in La Aljorra, Aljorra and Miguel de Cervantes to support them during this school year.These materials are distinguished in different batches depending on the level of education of preschool (3, 4 and 5 years) and primary (from 1 to 6) with varied materials and appropriate to each level of utility for classes and for home.
In total 7,212 units of material worth more than € 10,000 have been delivered, distributed in batches according to the levels and sizes of each class.It is important to highlight that the material has been purchased in the Aljorra to also contribute to its economy in these difficult times of COVID-19 and to facilitate its distribution, it will be delivered to each family at home.The donation is based on specific pillars that SABIC has set in its CSR actions and that include health and well-being during COVID19 as priorities, donations to the closest communities, collaboration with vulnerable groups, and education.
This action meets the second and fourth of those prioritiesJuan Alemany, the Director of the SABIC complex in Cartagena has stated: “With this action SABIC through its Foundation, highlights its commitment and support for children and their education, one of the pillars of our social commitment.
They are the future of our region and we want to offer them a very special and direct support after their exemplary compliance with the confinement so that they study in the best possible conditions.
”Miguel Ángel Vidal, director of CEIP Aljorra and María Dolores Garcia, director of CEIP Miguel de Cervantes affirm, "We are grateful to SABIC for having contacted the schools in our town to help families with school supplies.
SABIC's support joins the great effort that we are all making, students, parents and teachers during this exceptional and difficult situation we are experiencing.
