The measure is accompanied by the increase in tax credits for electric vehicles, which is already in force.This action is framed in the Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy (PACES) which has been approved this morning, Tuesday May 12, at the Local Government Board, and which includes all the actions to be implemented in the next 10 years to mitigate the effects of climate change and adapt the municipality of Cartagena to the new reality.The City Council of Cartagena adhered in 2018 to the Covenant of Mayors for Climate, thus committing itself to reduce CO2 emissions by 40% until 2030, increase energy savings by 27%, increase renewable energy consumption by 27% and present the Action Plan for Climate and Sustainable Energy, which was approved this Tuesday."The commitment of the local government in the fight against climate change is even more evident with the approval of this comprehensive plan, which includes the diagnosis of the situation of the municipality, as well as the main lines of action that we must implement throughout of the next 10 years to reduce CO2 emissions by at least 40% ”, said the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.Thus, different parameters have been analyzed, such as rainfall, dry periods, flood areas, maximum and minimum temperatures, heat waves or the risk of fire.

Use high albedo colors and cold materials for floors and facades, so as to reduce the "heat island" effect.It also includes creating an action plan against high levels of pollination, so that citizens can see, in real time, the areas with the highest concentration of pollen particles in the air.
