| This has been expressed by the Deputy Mayor and the Councilor for Social Services at a meeting with the associations of Alzheimer, Parkinson's, sclerosis, fibromyalgia and disorders of the personality | The municipal government has expressed its appreciation to disability entities for the effort they are making to maintain care for their users despite the limitations imposed by confinement.

In a meeting held with the Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, sclerosis, fibromyalgia and personality disorders associations and the delegate councilor for Social Care, Mercedes García; the deputy mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has recognized her work and recalled that the Cartagena City Council is going to accelerate the subsidy procedures to help them bear the extraordinary expenses they are suffering.“The limitations imposed by confinement and the fear of many users of contagion has forced these entities to make a greater effort so that their users do not regress in their treatments.

So they are doing home care, with all the difficulties posed by the threat of contagion, and have had to make large investments in materials to be able to move them to the homes of their associates.

”As these are jobs considered essential, the workers of these entities have not been able to take advantage of ERTE, which would have allowed them to better adjust expenses to work needs.

"It must be borne in mind that these entities, in addition, cannot support themselves only from the aid and membership fees and that is why they usually carry out charitable events, which are now also impossible.For this reason, Arroyo recalled, Social Services workers are accelerating the deadlines for the publication of subsidies and work has been done to help the aid address the new needs that social entities have during the current crisis.

"They have adapted to the situation with great effort and we are going to adapt the aid because we need them by our side so that they continue to carry out essential work for the people of Cartagena."
