The Federation of AAVV, Consumers and Users of Cartagena and Comarca "Fernando Garrido" has requested a meeting with the Deputy Mayor, the Delegate Councilor for Social Services and the Youth Councilor in order to discuss an issue that is of utmost importance to this Federation ,In the municipality of Cartagena, many older people live completely alone, not due to the Coronavirus crisis, but throughout the year.
There are a large number of them that have no family and are helpless in situations that arise on a day-to-day basis, especially if the place of residence is in areas where the residents of the same building do not even know each other.
Thus; In this meeting we would like to know first-hand the measures that the Cartagena City Council carries out with this vulnerable group. From FAVCAC we are ready to collaborate helping our older neighbors, involving the youth of the center, neighborhoods and councils in this task, coordinated by neighborhood associations.Precisely we have requested the aforementioned meeting to find out if the City Council is carrying out any type of action in this regard because our elders have been and will be fundamental in our society. Finally, add that this same meeting has been requested from the Mayor of La Unión and the Mayor of Los Alcázares to learn about the situation in their municipalities.
