| The website, with an institutional appearance, offers to fill out a form to obtain the flyer for which it charges between 29 and 40 euros, when these procedures at the municipal electronic headquarters are free | The municipal statistical office has raised the alarm against the scam of a website, which supposedly manages the registration certificate at the Cartagena City Council in exchange for money.Apparently they have managed so that when you search for "empadronamiento Cartagena" in google, it appears as the first result through an advertisement, in which it offers a form to fill out and, at the end, asks for an amount that ranges between 29 and the 40 euros, but in reality, that request never reaches the City Council.In this sense, citizens are asked to always use the official website of the City Council and not to access it through search engines that can redirect them to fraudulent pages.

"It is important to always use the website of the City Council for the actions that Cartagena residents have to carry out, since it offers all the security guarantees", stressed the councilor for Transparency, General Services and Electronic Administration, Alejandra Gutiérrez, who encouraged citizens who may have doubts in the processing of these documents to resolve their queries through the tools enabled by the City Council.Several calls have already been received from people who have been the subject of this fraud, who are recommended not to pay or give their bank details.Statistics recalls that the registration procedures at the municipal electronic headquarters are free and, in addition, due to the confinement, citizens can carry out this management by email.The process to follow is to fill out the instance that appears in the electronic office, print it and sign it, and then send it by email along with the required documentation to statistical@ayto-cartagena.es.Information on this can also be obtained at 968128844 during office hours.
