The Federation of AA.VV, Consumers and Users of Cartagena and Comarca "Fernando Garrido", wants to express its absolute disagreement with the response that the Parliamentary Groups of the Popular Party, Vox and Citizens have given to the amendment presented by the Socialist Parliamentary Group for the Santa María del Rosell Hospital to function 100% and for the Hemodynamic Service to be expanded to 24 hours, 365 days a year. For this Federation, now more than ever, these votes against, mean saying "NO" to citizens and Public Health that is suffering so much at this time of health crisis. It should not be forgotten that the Law for this hospital to operate at full capacity has been approved since March 21, 2016. The Parliamentary Groups that have voted no to this amendment, are the same ones that complain about the lack of sanitary resources and the mismanagement that the Central Government is carrying out in the Coronavirus crisis. It seems that the suffering of the health personnel of Area II of Health does not worry those Parliamentary Groups that prefer that there be a single hospital to attend to a population that triples in summer.
Not even the moments that we are experiencing a pandemic have made PP, VOX and CITIZENS reflect, taking into account that the latter voted in favor of said Law in 2016. For the citizens of Cartagena and its Region it is a serious blow because the Hospital of Santa Lucía must continue to bear the weight of the health of our municipality and its region, which was previously precarious, now it has been shown to be even worse, except for the professionals who work in it, who with scarce means, put their lives in danger to overcome the crisis we are experiencing. From FAVCAC we will continue to fight for the opening of Rosell and we will demand that the Law be observed once and for all, through mobilizations of all kinds because PUBLIC HEALTH deserves to be defended.
