| Arroyo: "We need the experience of the Third Sector organizations to prepare the work in the second phase" | The Cartagena City Council and the organizations of the Network to Combat Poverty and Social Exclusion (EAPN) will use their experience of working together to improve information and social response to the new needs caused by the coronavirus crisis, as explained by the Deputy Mayor and head of the social area, Noelia Arroyo, after a meeting with Rosa Cano, EAPN regional president and representatives of institutions integrated into its social care network.In a telematic meeting attended by the councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, the city council and organizations have positively valued the response that has been made in the first moment of social emergency and have pledged to continue working online to share information and improve the attention, especially, in the most sensitive groups and the preferred action neighborhoods in which these organizations work.“We have all agreed on the fact that years of joint work by the city council and social organizations have allowed us to respond more quickly to a situation for which no one was prepared.

The truth is that Cartagena has the luxury of having a network of highly specialized model entities that know how to complement each other and will be essential in the work that lies ahead.

We will continue with them because we need the experience of Third Sector organizations to prepare work in the second phase of this crisis, "said Arroyo.Representatives of entities such as Cepaim, La Huertecica, Rascasa, the Tienda Asilo-San Pedro and Sierra Minera foundations, and the Columbares association participated in the meeting.

All have agreed to thank and highlight the professionalism shown by the workers of the Department of Social Services.
