The Cartagena City Council has concluded the campaign to collect diving masks that was launched in the face of the health crisis, on the initiative of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, with the participation of the College of Pharmacists of the Region of Murcia.
The UPCT considers its objectives completed after, through this and other contributions, they have been able to gather more than 1,100 units, which they have adapted for their sanitary use.
In the two weeks that the campaign lasted, more than 40 deliveries have been made in a total of 33 pharmacy offices throughout the municipality.
The masks have been collected by Civil Protection volunteers and handed over to UPCT specialists, who have incorporated filters made with 3D printers.
The deputy mayor and head of the Social Care area, Noelia Arroyo, has thanked the college of pharmacists "for their immediate response to this project and their full willingness to collaborate in the social and health projects that the city council is developing during this health crisis."
