The SABIC Spain Foundation has delivered four pallets of non-perishable food and hygiene items, this Tuesday, April 14, to the City of Cartagena to help alleviate the crisis caused by COVID-19 among the most vulnerable families.
The Cartagena City Council will be responsible for delivering these basic products to citizens in need, through the social emergency device, which includes volunteers from the Civil Protection and the Food Bank, militants from the Tercio de Levante and municipal workers from Social Services, Sports, Education, Equality and Infrastructure.
"I want to convey to SABIC my thanks and that of the entire municipal government for the solidarity it is showing towards the people of Cartagena.
Our society has always been characterized by its generosity and in the difficult moments we are experiencing we demonstrate it again ”, stated the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón.
The donation has included, mainly, eggs, oil, baby food, diapers, pastries and cleaning products, for families and people whose economic situations have been aggravated by the crisis caused by COVID19.
“The SABIC Spain Foundation continues its close collaboration with the Cartagena City Council in these difficult times for all and in which the COVID-19 punishes the needy even more.
For this reason, it is important not to forget that the alleviation of basic needs is essential at this time, ”said director of the SABIC complex in Cartagena, Juan Alemany.
