Noelia Arroyo and First Deputy Mayor, D. Manuel Padín, the beginning of the work by the institution in the investment projects they want to carry out, with the aim of starting public works as soon as possible and contributing in this way to boost the local economy.
The objective of this meeting has been to transfer the current situation of the business sector to the City Council, and establish the work dynamics to implement concrete measures to boost the business fabric, so affected by COVID 19, agreed between the City Council and businessmen.
The basic lines of the Economic Reactivation Plan for Cartagena have been established, which will have a special action in the sectors most affected by the crisis, such as the hotel, hotel and commercial sectors, and which is to be prepared jointly by the City Council and entrepreneurs.
In addition, the City Council has been requested to make the payment to suppliers as soon as possible to suppliers in order to provide greater liquidity for companies, which are sorely needed.
Likewise, employers have requested a personalized payment plan for entrepreneurs that gives them greater flexibility (raising the fractional amount without the need for a guarantee, non-accrual of interest and extension of terms) in municipal payments.
A water rate subsidy has been proposed by the Confederation, in addition to the suspension and exemption, where appropriate, of the Taxes on Economic Activities and Real Estate, as well as all applicable rates in the municipality (occupation of public thoroughfare). , garbage, terraces, ...).
Likewise, it has been requested to establish a bonus in the Construction, Installations and Works Tax (ICIO) and in the municipal capital gains mortis causa.
The City Council has been urged in the elaboration of the General Urban Planning Plan (PGOU) as a fundamental and dynamic element of the economic development of the city.
In this sense, the City Council has expressed that the recently approved municipal budgets include the need and urgency to continue advancing in the drafting of the new General Urban Planning Plan, as has been demanded by businessmen for a long time.
The president of COEC, Ana Correa has demanded from the Government of Spain that the City Councils be allowed to dispose of 100% of the surplus and not just 20%, as is the case right now, since this contribution is absolutely necessary to help solve this complicated economic situation.
City Council and employers have called for a new meeting, shortly, to analyze the measures to be adopted and the feasibility of the proposals.
Once again, from this Confederation we want to claim the figure of the businessman.
We want to transmit all our support and encouragement to all entrepreneurs, large and small, for their effort and sacrifice, for not giving up, for drawing strength from where there is none to get ahead, to continue making our country great.
We are proud of all of you.
