The Department of Education of the Cartagena City Council has implemented a system of home delivery of educational tasks to students who do not have the financial resources or any other facility to receive school assignments.
The main objective is to help the boys and girls of the municipality, who are in this situation of social vulnerability, to continue their learning at this stage of confinement.
The idea is that these students receive the activities that they must do monthly.
Those who are going to benefit from this initiative, in principle financed by the Department of Education of the City Council, will be those that correspond to families at risk of social exclusion and who attend from the 2nd cycle of Early Childhood Education to Compulsory Secondary Education, as well as Special education.
“We are aware that there are many families who do not have the financial resources or other means to access school assignments.
We want that in this period of confinement, all the boys and girls can continue their learning ”, explained the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz.
The mayor has also highlighted that "from the Department of Education we have asked all educational centers to indicate which students are not receiving their homework due to their situation of social vulnerability so that we can help them."
"Of course, it is important to say that none of this would be possible without all the professionals of the educational centers of the municipality of Cartagena, to whom I want to convey my sincere thanks," stressed the councilor, who also wanted to highlight "the enormous work that they are doing, the full disposition that they have, and that they are demonstrating in this very difficult stage ”.
The Department of Education is already receiving the information necessary to implement this measure of homework distribution of school tasks.
