From this Wednesday, April 1, the Department of Equality through the Center for Attention to Victims of Gender Violence (CAVI) increases its telephone lines by learning that the demand is greater than the reception capacity with the telephone enabled to beginnings of the State and Alarm.
Therefore, as announced by the Councilor for Equality, David Martínez, "another line has been enabled for incoming calls and to expand the attention services with the telephone number 968128821, which is in addition to the one that previously existed, 968128820".
These two telephones are managed by two social workers, and in addition, they are two more lines in the hands of the legal department and the psychologists for attention and monitoring of the female victims who are served in the service.
The calls received are mostly focused on solving doubts or making queries related to the needs derived from the current circumstances on economic resources and legal doubts.
The CAVI Social Workers have therefore contacted the SEPE (Public State Employment Service) to find out the management protocols of the RAI (Active Insertion Income) during the state of confinement.
Also our Social Workers have coordinated their work with the Emergency Operative created by the City Council through its Social Assistance Services for families to manage cases of food emergencies and basic necessities.
Since the beginning of the year, the CAVI Cartagena has carried out 470 services, of which 63 were new women.
It maintains 4 therapy groups for adult women, 1 group for young women and two workshops for young people "Together we are stronger", in addition to the strong work of Awareness and Prevention with the campaign "If you feel drowned, it is not love".
Let us remember that according to Royal Decree-Law 10/2020, of March 29, services that provide protection and care for victims of gender violence are considered essential.
