Social workers, police officers and volunteers from Civil Protection and La Huertecica thanked this afternoon with an applause in front of the Los Habaneros hotel for the delivery of their staff during the ten days in which they have welcomed the homeless people transferred by the City Council to the state the alarm state.
The “exemplary” work of its manager, Bartolom Vera, and all the staff has been thanked by the vice mayor and head of Social Services, Noelia Arroyo, for whom “the management of the hotel and its entire team have been an example of professionalism in a delicate situation and they have given a lesson in humanity that will be very difficult to thank as it deserves ”.
The recognition sample was produced before proceeding to the transfer of the “homeless” to the Hospitality of Santa Teresa, where they will continue their confinement in conditions most appropriate to their needs.
The device, organized by the municipal and regional governments, will allow the refugees to continue receiving the medical and social care that the City Council's Social Services and the La Huertecica collective have been providing, which intervenes because most of those assisted suffer drug addictions.
The health risk that the presence of homeless people on the street posed for them and for the community as a whole caused the Social Services, in collaboration with La Huertecica and Critas, to distribute the “homeless” between the Coto Dorda shelter and the Los Habaneros hotel, while the conditions for their transfer to the Hospitality of Santa Teresa were established.
