Supermarkets and food stores may reopen to the public this Sunday to facilitate the supply of basic products for citizens, according to the order published this afternoon in the supplement to the Official Bulletin of the Region of Murcia by the Ministry of Business, Industry and Spokesperson.

The measure cancels the one published last week, which due to the coronavirus suspended the possibility of opening these shops throughout the region and in the municipality of Cartagena, those with more than 300 square meters, despite their condition as area of ​​great tourist affluence.

The change as indicated in the order is due to the demand of the agents of the sector and to the evolution of the pandemic by COVID-19 in the Region of Murcia;

Valuing the convenience of guaranteeing the commercial activity for the users in conditions of maximum security, and also leaving without effect the recommendation to close at 19 hours.

In this way, from Sunday they will be able to reopen on Sundays and holidays supermarkets and food stores of less than 300 meters throughout the region;

and in the case of the municipality of Cartagena, also the large supermarkets of more than 300 meters, being able to close at their usual time.
