The health alert situation caused by the coronavirus has led the Cartagena Local Police to intensify security measures to avoid possible contagion among the agents.
In addition to having adopted gloves and masks as an indispensable material for the performance of their duties, the Police Headquarters has acquired new fast-reading infrared thermometers to take the temperature of officers.
The Coudadana Security Councilor, Juan Pedro Torralba, has applauded this idea from the Chief of Local Police, Emilio Rodríguez.
"Right now, the priority is to stop contagion and given the high exposure of our local police officers in this health crisis, we must provide them with all the necessary materials so that they can carry out their work in the best security conditions," he assured.
Thus, from today the four base barracks of the municipality, Cartagena, El Algar, Cabo de Palos and Pozo Estrecho will have these new thermometers, which, without having to touch the skin, have 2 measurement methods, in the ear and in the front, and fast infrared reading in 1 second.
