The companies that provide home care to the elderly and dependents have exceeded their action protocols against contagion, as they guaranteed to the Deputy Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, who brought them together to learn about the planned protection measures.
Arroyo convened on Thursday, March 12, the representatives of the companies that provide the services of Home Help, Home Telecare, Home Food and Family Breathing to guarantee that the basic network of primary care offered by the Department of Social Services to the elderly and with disabilities is carried out with the maximum guarantees, both for workers and for the most vulnerable people they serve.
"These services serve 1,863 elderly and disabled people in our municipality, so it is essential to establish action protocols to ensure maximum protection for the most vulnerable people and that they can have the necessary care to meet their needs," the Deputy Mayor explained.
For this, Arroyo has asked for the maximum collaboration of the companies, "there are 79 workers who provide food and the necessary care to these people at home on a daily basis, so the role they can play in becoming transmitters of health recommendations and to inform the competent authorities of any symptoms ”.
In addition, the companies have announced the measures put in place to avoid possible contagion from their workers and guarantee the protection of the most vulnerable people, following the recommendations of the health authorities, such as reinforcing hygiene and cleaning measures. and the limitation of physical contact.
Among the recommendations made by these companies, the Home Telecare Service includes a scam alert to elderly people of false volunteers who visit homes offering to test for the coronavirus.
Noelia Arroyo has thanked home service companies for their work to improve the well-being of older people and their full integration into society.
