The vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, met on Wednesday March 11 in the Federation of elders in the neighborhood of La Concepcion, to transfer the recommendations to be followed by the health authorities to the 43 senior clubs of Cartagena and Comarca.

Noelia Arroyo has asked its presidents for responsibility so that they avoid any type of celebration or event that involves crowds of people, over the next 15 days, to protect the most vulnerable population, such as the elderly themselves, since they have more risk of adding other ailments and for having a lower immunological capacity.

The vice mayor and councilor of the area of ​​Social Welfare and Sports, has also transferred the recommendations of the health authorities regarding extreme hygiene and cleanliness measures, with the aim of slowing the spread of the virus and protecting the health system from a collapse due to the accumulation of patients in hospitals, which would prevent the most serious cases from being treated.

For its part, the president of the Federation of Clubs of Elders of Cartagena, María Beteta, explained that they have the commitment to follow the recommendations transferred from the City Council, suspending trips, meals and events that involve large accumulations of people.
