The Municipal Archive has released the Document of the Month, which on this occasion is a 1910 brief in which the mayor of Cartagena is informed of the existence of several cases of women with venereal and syphilitic diseases in the city that, although they had to be treated at the Juan de Dios Provincial Hospital in Murcia, he refused to admit them since there was an epidemic of Typhus.
Therefore, in a session of June 22, 1910, the City Council faced with this situation and through the Health Commission, requested a report to study how the Hospital of Charity of Cartagena admitted to these patients at the expense of the Deputation itself Provincial.
As regards the Video of the Month, the Archive has selected images of the Los Caballitos Fair at the Alfonso XII pier, in 1991, from the TeleCartagena funds.
During four decades of the last century (1960-1990), the fair of attractions was installed on the Alfonso XII pier, the well-known “Caballitos”, were during the winter months in Cartagena a place of ride for thousands of Cartagena, especially in the Sundays mornings where the “chiquillera” could enjoy all kinds of attractions, at the same time many adults, concentrated on the totems and booths with different games of chance and skills.
