The Cartagena City Council continues to work on the Action Plan to Combat Climate Change betting on three main axes: sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and sustainability.
The City Council signed in 2018 the Action Plan on Climate and Sustainable Energy (PACES), to commit to reduce CO2 by 40% by 2030, increase energy efficiency savings by 27% and also increase by 27% energy consumption from renewable sources.
This Tuesday, March 10, framed in that Action Plan to Combat Climate Change and the European program that Life Adaptate, a workshop has been held to present a guide that welcomes climate change adaptation and mitigation measures. which serve as an aid to focus the local policies of Cartagena.
The Special Delegate Councilor for Sustainable City and European Projects, Cristina Mora, has assured that work will be done to adapt the measures in this guide to the Action Plan to Combat Climate Change, which will be presented shortly, and that "it has three fundamental axes : work on sustainable mobility, energy efficiency and bet on a sustainable city taking into account the carbon footprint measurement ".
On this day, a special councilor for Sustainable City and European Projects, Cristina Mora, along with representatives of the Regional Government, such as the head of the Environment and Climate Change Promotion Service, Francisco Victoria, and the head of the Institute for the Promotion of the Region of Murcia (INFO) and coordinator of the Covenant of Mayors in the Region of Murcia, Rafael Ataz, in addition to all the political groups of the City Council of Cartagena, and technicians and service managers related to the Sustainability Area.
