The Local Police of Cartagena joins the new Special Campaign on Seat Belt and Child Restraint Systems (SRI), carried out by the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), which runs from March 9 to March 15 , in compliance with the programming of the Surveillance and Control Campaigns and Operations for the year 2020.
The use of approved restraint systems, safety belt and SRI, is the simplest, most profitable and efficient road safety system, in all types of roads and paths.
Although the use of the seat belt has increased, there are still serious gaps.
This is hardly understandable considering the relationship between simplicity of use and its effectiveness, since it reduces the risk of death in half in case of an accident.
One of the objectives of the 2011-2020 Road Safety Strategy is "to ensure that no child loses his life by not sitting properly in a chair suitable for his weight and height."
The monitoring and enforcement of the law with regard to the use of the belt and restraint systems has established itself as one of the most effective methods to maintain and increase the rate of use of the belt among the occupants of the vehicles.
