Under the slogan 'Women in Painting', the Association Housewives, Consumers and Users Cartagena delivered yesterday afternoon the X 'Women's Day' Awards, in recognition of the involvement and defense of equal opportunities.
The awards ceremony, which was attended by the Councilor for the Area of ​​Culture, Youth and Equality, David Martínez, took place at the Cajamurcia Foundation, in an event attended by more than fifty people.
On this occasion, the group wanted to recognize the work of three women who have stood out this past year in the Plastic Arts and also in favor of equality between men and women.
The Peruvian painter, based in Murcia, Araceli Reverte, the Cartagena-born Rosana Sitcha and the Murcian Guillermina Sánchez, also president of the Association of Painters of Murcia (Apimur), received the awards.
This association, which currently has approximately 900 members, recognizes every year the activity carried out by women who have stood out in their work in favor of real and effective equality of the rights of men and women and for their accumulated experience throughout of the years in a specific area.
