The Elderly Club of La Palma, this week, develops a new edition of its Cultural Week, in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, with the aim of encouraging the active participation of its members, in the different scheduled activities.
It was inaugurated on Monday, March 9 at the Club Mayores La Palma, with an exhibition of painting and handicrafts made in the workshops.
During the week numerous activities will be developed such as: board games championships, floral offering, living together, procession, a talk, etc.
The week will end on Sunday March 15 with the awarding of trophies to the winners of the different competitions and with a meal together.
PROGRAMMING
On Monday, March 9, the Cultural Week of La Palma begins with the opening ceremony and the exhibition of crafts and painting.
On Tuesday 10 the board of directors will visit people who, due to their physical and psychological limitations, cannot attend the events at 12:00 noon.
The week continues are games of parcheesi and dominoes, on Wednesday, March 11 at 4:30 p.m. along with chocolate and buns for attendees.
On Thursday 12 at 5:00 p.m. there is a talk about diabetes and food by the Diabetes Association, Sodicar.
On Friday, the program continues with the Offering of Flowers to Our Patron Sana Florentina with the Association of Pensioners of La Palma at 7:30 p.m.
And on Saturday, March 14 a Mass is celebrated in honor of Santa Florentina at 11:30 a.m., later in the afternoon the accompaniment to Santa Florentina is made in procession through the streets of the town, to end the day with a great dance enlivened by The Lady Luna set.
Finally, on Sunday, March 15, a meal of coexistence is celebrated in honor of Our Patron Saint Santa Florentina, with the assistance of the authorities with the delivery of trophies to the winners of the different championships.
There will be raffles of hams, loins, cheeses and wines.
The opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón.
