The violinist Lina Tur, together with the harpsichordist Dani Espasa, opens the new edition of the Bach Cartagena (09/03/2020)

The violinist Lina Tur, accompanied by the harpsichordist Dani Espasa, will open the new edition of the Bach Cartagena, with a concert in which a selection of Bach and Haendel suites will be performed.

The recital will be this Wednesday, March 11 at the headquarters of the Regional Assembly of Murcia and with it starts this cycle, which aims to publicize the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and the Baroque masters through concerts by great artists.

The concert is free, until full capacity is reached.

Lina Tur Bonet, considered internationally as one of the most interesting violinists of her generation, leads the concert that kicks off the festival, under the title 'Bach - Handel: a meeting'.

A session that will attempt to interpret what would have been the meeting of these two German geniuses, had it occurred.

Haendel and Bach were born sixteen days apart and less than 200 kilometers away from each other, but they never met personally.

Johann Sebastian Bach and Georg Friedrich Handel appreciated and admired each other, but never met.

In this concert their music will be presented together, with a repertoire dedicated to the Baroque violin and key duo.

Handel's lyricism and Bach's rhetoric will dialogue at this concert.

The great Saxon cosmopolitan contrasts with a Bach that never left a small German territory, but whose music was known and appreciated everywhere.

Versatile violinist, Lina Tur after working from a young age with many of the most renowned artists of baroque, romantic and contemporary music of the moment, and dedicating herself as a soloist to the interpretation and recording of both great composers and unpublished music, she has already become a reference of music, being claimed throughout Europe for world-class groupings.

Awarded, among other national and international competitions, in the Bonporti Prize, the violinist also has the peculiarity of having an unusually extensive repertoire that includes more than 400 years of music, always with the instruments of each era.

Lina Tur will be accompanied for this occasion by the harpsichordist Dani Espasa, musical director, pianist, accordionist, clavicembalist ... he is undoubtedly one of the most versatile musicians of current ancient music.

With this recital a cycle of six concerts begins, which will end on March 22 and also has the Bach & Kids section, in charge of bringing different educational concerts to schools that promote the contact of ancient music and curiosity about heritage Among the little ones.

This concert is done in collaboration between the City Council of Cartagena and the Regional Assembly itself, and also has the collaboration of the transport company Alsa.

All under the organization of Early Music Project.
