For the commemoration of International Women's Day, the Popular University will carry out several events that are included in the program of activities of March 8 with the motto The freedom of women is unstoppable that the Department of Equality of the City Council of Cartagena has presented.
The Popular University of Cartagena since its origins in 1931 has maintained a clear and firm position in defense of equality.
The training actions developed work in a transversal way on personal empowerment, promoting the development of activities that promote and make women visible in the space of today's society.
The activities begin next Tuesday, March 10, with a Cineforum being held with the film A brilliant reason, moderated by Sergio Martínez, Vice President of the FICC.
It will be screened in the audiovisual room of the Municipal Archive at 5:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, March 11, the Round Table will take place. They did it, women who have achieved equality in areas where there was a gender gap.

It will be held in the Josefina Soria library of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center at 7:00 p.m.

On Thursday, March 12, the cycle of actions scheduled by the UP for this commemoration with the Cultural Route Illustrious Women of Cartagena is closed.
Cartageneras by birth or adoption such as Carmen Conde, María Dolores Bas, Santa Florentina, Sr. Francisca Armendáriz, María Tomasa Antera or "La Charito" among others will be the protagonists of this itinerary.
