The musicians Felipe Rodríguez García with the violin, Irene Ortega Albaladejo with cello and Gabriel Escudero Braquehais on piano have been the three protagonists of the Extraordinary Concert of Between Strings and Metals, organized by the Department of Youth of the City of Cartagena and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, in which he paid tribute to the 250th anniversary of the birth of one of the greats in the history of music, Ludwig van Beethoven.
The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, and the Special Councilor for Culture, Carlos Piñana, the Councilors for MC, Jesús Jiménez, María Dolores Ruíz and Isabel García, and the Councilor for Vox, Gonzalo Abad, were present at the concert.
During the event the most admired works of the composer Beehtoven could be heard, of the 9 overtures he composed, the Coriolano Overture was opened, composed in 1807 and continued with the concert for violin, cello, piano and orchestra in C major, op.
56 (Triple Concert).
The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, remarked “the fate of enjoying this wonder with three luxury soloists for the occasion: Felipe Rodríguez García (violin), Irene Ortega Albaladejo (cello) and Gabriel Escudero Braquehais (piano), winners of previous editions Contest Between Ropes and Metals, but also other national and international competitions.
All of them have acted as soloists and in chamber music groups in different countries, with brilliant artistic trajectories, and guests regularly in top-level orchestras. â€
A true luxury to bring these three great musicians together on stage, performing the 'Triple' - being heard on the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven's birth for the first and only time in our Region;
as is being programmed in many other cities in the world, the only concert that this great teacher and composer composed for more than one solo instrument, in his most creative time.
The concert, dedicated entirely to Beethoven, ended with the interpretation of the Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena of the Symphony No. 4 in B major, op.
60, composed in 1806. Although the 4th symphony is between two monuments of the Beethovenian symphonic repertoire, La Heroica and the 5th, both already performed by the OSCT in 'Extraordinary Concerts' of the Contest Between Strings and Metals in 2015 and 2016 respectively , the 4th is also a huge masterpiece.
Two of the works that made up this program: The Coriolano Overture and the Fourth Symphony were released on March 7, 1807. Between Cuerdas y Metales, only two days were advanced, on the 250th Anniversary of Beethoven's birth, to the premiere that took place in 1807 of these two works, this time in Cartagena, and all this added to the fact that there was the direction under the baton of one of the best international directors Leonardo Martínez Cayuelas, at the head of the Cartagena Symphony Orchestra, one of the most promising symphonic formations on the national scene.
