The III UCAM Cartagena Volunteer Exhibition starts, which takes place on March 5, 6 and 7, in a Charity and Volunteer conference, organized by the university in collaboration with the City Council of Cartagena, the Port Authority of Cartagena, the Institute International of Charity and Volunteering John Paul II and the Dicastery for the Integral Human Development Service.
At the opening ceremony, held on Thursday, March 5, the Vice Mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, stressed that from the Cartagena City Council they value the great work done by the Ucam in Cartagena and its foundation, "they are Cartagena and that love for their land they manifest it in every opportunity they have had and have extended it to the entire region, in Spain and in the rest of the world. "
The vice mayor showed her gratitude from the Consistory for that "great work", which she has met in the first person as a member of the first promotion of the university, "something that has penetrated my principles and values ​​that were transmitted in that formation."
Noelia Arroyo congratulated the University for this initiative, which is celebrating its third consecutive year, and for giving visibility to the "great work" carried out by the Social Network of Social Care of Cartagena that "is a reference throughout the region."
From the City Council, "we support the work of volunteers with different municipal programs, adding more generous Cartagena to the church and our municipality," concluded the vice mayor. "
The rector of the UCAM, Josefina García, pointed out that the university "would have no reason to exist or exist without being accompanied by social and humanitarian work, something vital in the spirit of the university and its founder, José Luis Mendoza."
The rector explained that it is very important to see how the Cartagena campus develops and highlights the projects they are preparing, for a future campus in the area of ​​health, sports and nutrition, with new titles that will attract countless students, which will contribute to the social, cultural and economic development of the city.
The III Sample of Volunteering UCAM Cartagena takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Cavite Heroes Square of the Port of Cartagena.
In addition, on Friday at 7:00 p.m., a blind-guided workshop will be held by 'Overpassed Strides' and AFAL will do, on Saturday afternoon, a workshop of rubber roses eva and another of hama.
This year's program also includes a series of conferences on Monday 2 and Wednesday 4 March on Christian values ​​and development cooperation.
The inauguration was attended by the director general of the UCAM, Vicente Mendoza, the chaplain and volunteer coordinator of the UCAM of Cartagena, Antonio José Palazón, the rector of the UCAM, Josefina García, and the episcopal vicar of Cartagena, José Abellán.
