Mother Network, Doctors Without Borders and the Grouping of Civil Protection Volunteers are some of the incorporations of this year in which vehicles and boats that are used in emergencies can be seen until Saturday in the Plaza de Héroes de Cavite
The general director of the Catholic University of San Antonio, Vicente Mendoza, and the rector of the UCAM, Josefina García, have inaugurated this morning in the Plaza de los Heroes de Cavite the third edition of the Volunteer Show that the International Institute of Charity and Volunteer John Paul II of this university organizes in the port city.
On this occasion there are about 40 non-profit entities that participate in the sample installed by the UCAM to publicize their projects and needs to the Cartagena.
Among the participating organizations there are associations of people who altruistically work for people with disabilities, childhood, the elderly, the sick, immigrants, the promotion of Christian values, the coverage of basic needs to the most needy.
This year's highlights include the recently created delegation in Cartagena of Red Madre, the presence of Doctors Without Borders and the Association of Civil Protection Volunteers of Cartagena, which brings vehicles and boats used in emergencies to the exhibition.
Precisely, Red Madre and Médecins Sans Frontières are two of the organizations that have participated in the talks on 'Christian Values' and 'Development Cooperation' respectively in the International Charity and Volunteer Days that have accompanied this exhibition for the first time at Los Dolores Campus, also including an exhibition of traditional costumes from America and Africa.
Vicente Mendoza has stressed that, "as the president of our university always says, helping the needy is the foundation of UCAM, which is based on the pillars of education, research and evangelization," emphasizing that "in the background of each of these booths is the love of the weak on the part of all the people who form these organizations. â€
At the inauguration, attended by university, political, religious, military and port authorities, the UCAM Cartagena Volunteer Coordinator, Antonio Palazón, stressed that “this is a small sample of the direct relationship we have because our students volunteer to throughout the year with them or we collaborate in one of their events â€.
